Spring in New Zealand

Lucy is just over three and a half and Hope is just over 1 and half years old now. Time flies!

We still live in the same place in Upper Hutt. Searching around for homes closer to the city...less driving = more better. No immediate plans to move, just looking.

It is spring in New Zealand and unsettled! Windy, sunny, raining, cold, warm...all in one day if not one hour!

I am training for a race called The Goat with my friend Allison. The Goat is an off-road, half marathon on the ski fields outside Whakapapa near the centre of the North Island. Race day is 4 December. www.thegoat.co.nz.

Our vege garden is doing good and strong and we just picked some things yesterday for dinner. Strawberries are planted and I am keen to plan tomatoes this year.

We had a wonderful time in the US and Canada in July and August of this year. Lucy hasn't stopped talking about everything we saw and did. The trip made a big impression on her.

Upper Hutt Cyclo Race

Our friend Mike is one of the owners of the Bike Hutt in Upper Hutt. He put a cyclocross race near our house on the 4th of July. It was great fun and Vaughan had a blast! Here are some photos of the race.

Alive and well

Right! So we are all alive and well...just busy! Hope is now 5 1/2 months old and has two teeth! Lucy is talking up a storm and just absorbs more and more on a daily basis. Vaughan and I are getting ready to a cyclocross race in on 22 August...my first, his second. We are planning a trip to the US next August unless I find a cheap seat before that. I am working about 5 hours a week from home. I will have a great babysitter/nanny helping me out starting next week for 8 hours in total. I will be home with her and Hope so I can feed Hope and have a cuddle and a play. I promise to post more updates and some photos ASAP.

Hope is three months old

Hope is now 3 months old. Time flies! She is doing very well. She is a good sleeper and eater and loves to hang out and take everything in. She loves to study faces and watch Lucy do her thing.
